Newsletters

The AIMA Newsletter has been published successfully since 1978, originally begun by Jeremy Green at the Western Australian Museum (Fremantle). The Newsletter contains reports and updates on fieldwork and research projects around Australasia and abroad and disseminates relevant information on current legislative activities at local, state and national levels, conferences, training programs, books, and other underwater cultural heritage and maritime-related matters.

AIMA publishes four quarterly volumes of the Newsletter each year, giving members and other interested parties ample opportunity to share their news items and work results with an internaitonal readership. The Newsletter provides the latest information on research projects, new technologies with applications to maritime archaeology and heritage management, book reviews, conference announcements, projects and research activities undertaken specifically by AIMA members, volunteer and internship opportunities, as well as feature articles on unique projects, sites and artefacts.

AIMA encourages anyone with news items or project reports of interest to maritime archaeologists, students, maritime heritage managers, maritime historians, enthusiasts, conservation scientists, academics, museum curators, wet organics conservation experts, etc. to submit a contribution to the Newsletter Editor (contact below) for publication. Before doing so, please read carefully the following Notes to Authors to ensure that your submission meets the format requiments for publication.
